Apostolic in origin. Catholic in nature. Biblical in faith. Evangelical in principle. Ecumenical in outlook. Oriental in worship. Democratic in function. Episcopal in character.

The Newcastle Fellowship in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is under the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church and its North America and Europe Diocese and has a Vicar-in-charge from the Liverpool parish.

This small Fellowship is supported by Marthomites residing in the areas of Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Washington, Durham, Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees. A Holy Communion service in Malayalam is held once a month and follows the Mar Thoma Church liturgy. A cottage prayer meeting is also held once a month at the residence of church members.

The Fellowship enjoys the love and support of St. Andrew's Church in Lamesley, Gateshead, a place of worship steeped in immense history since 1286 with Saxon origins.
